 A Message From the Principal

Welcome to our Spring program!

During this school year we have seen many difficult changes to programs here at SVAS.  The greatest being the loss of our Adults With Disabilities program and our connection to Becoming Independent because of budget constraints.

The good news for BI is that Santa Rosa Community College was able to step in and pick up the funding for the academic piece of their program that we could not continue.  We wish them all the best, and our highest regard for their wonderful dedication to those adults in our community with disabilities.

Other changes made because of state budget cuts include fees for our Career and Technical courses, a reduced school year for our Adult Secondary and English as a Second Language programs, as well as the elimination of summer school.

Community Education continues to offer great low cost and interesting classes.  Some of our new offerings include: Brain Candy: New Ideas for Using Your Head, Working from the Inside: Art, Wax, & Found Objects, Business Opportunities in Credit Restoration, Eating for Health and Beauty and Winter/Spring Sport Ski/Snowboard Conditioning.

Please come to our Open House on Saturday, January 9, from noon till 2:oo PM, have some refreshments, meet teachers, and register for classes.

Wishing all a prosperous New Year,
