Computer Skills & Business Applications
The following certificate courses provide a self-paced, no pressure environment. Classes are ongoing and enrollment is open for students to start anytime. Course lab fees are due at the beginning of each level. Teacher will evaluate students' skills upon entry for level placement and keyboarding needs.
Computer Operations: Level 1 Learn one or all Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher. The lab offers basic but comprehensive instruction on computer concepts and programs. Lab fee: $75
Computer Operations: Level II Learn advanced concepts of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Study all programs or take only those you need. Lab fee: $75
Keyboarding Learn proper techniques to become a touch typist or to increase your speed. Lab fee: $40
Business Applications Course includes filing, office skills, business math, English grammar and spelling. Lab fee: $40

Career and Technical Education: Medical
Clinical Medical Assistant Training Program
Sonoma Valley Adult School, in collaboration with Boston Reed College and other medical facilities in the area is offering an 20 week Clinical Medical Assistant Training Program. The Clinical Medical Assistant works in a doctor's office or a clinic and assists with procedures that care for patients, performs simple laboratory tests and administers medications, including injections. Other duties include rooming patients, taking vital signs and chief complaints, wound care and ambulatory care. The course combines 146-hours of classroom instruction with 160-hours of off-site externship coordinated by Boston Reed College to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience . The course fee is $1685. Textbook fees are included in the course fee. The program satisfies all training guidelines established by the State of California Medical Board and the California Medical Assistant Association (CMAA). Graduates will be qualified to apply for CMAA Certification upon completion of the course. Early registration is recommended. We now offer Financial Assistance through SLM Financial.
